My Journey So Far

David Copeland first appeared on the professional acting scene with the Theater Company of Boston's production of Arturo Ui' starring Al Pacino. Arriving in NYC, Mr. Copeland quickly landed work with Gerome Ragni & James Rado's musical workshop 'YMCA,' & with the Theater of The Ridiculous musical production of 'Heaven Grand In Amber Orbit' at La MaMa ETC.

Stunt Double For Notable Personalities

David has performed sketch comedy on Late Night w/David Letterman. Live w/Regis & Kathy Lee, Saturday Night Live, The Gordon Elliot Show, Viva Variety on Comedy Central, MTV, & Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien. He is proud to have stunt doubled Woody Allen, Rick Moranis, Howie Mandel, Andy Richter, Gordon Elliot, Joe Pesce & even Julianne Moore! Running the gamut from actor, to director, to professional stuntman & stunt coordinator, David has performed in close to One Hundred National & Regional commercials.

TV Shows & Film Credits

David has performed in close to One Hundred National & Regional commercials. He has appeared as a principal TV player on As The World Turns (in which he also worked as the in house stunt coordinator for more than a decade) The Guiding Light, Another World, Loving, Search For Tomorrow, The Edge of Night, Now & Again, The Equalizer, & The Sopranos. Film credits include The Warriors, Fort Apache The Bronx, Raging Bull, The Soldier, Enemy Territory, So Fine, A Midsummer's Night Sex Comedy, Ghostbusters, Serendipity, Birth, & Jersey Justice.

Director of Many Plays

As a member of the Workshop Theater Company, & The Players, he appeared & directed dozens of plays. Among his favorite roles are King Alonzo in 'The Tempest' (two different productions) at the 42nd Street Workshop, twice playing Nicolai Stakov in 'On The Eve' once at the 42nd Street Workshop, & then at the Neighborhood Playhouse, and Eddie Carbone in an exclusive presentation of 'A View From The Bridge,' which he also Directed at the Players Club, & The Workshop Theater Company. David directed & acted in the Off-Broadway hit 'Monster' at the Jose QuintaroTheater.

He directed the original musical 'King of Fuh' as well as two workshop production of 'American Buffalo' in the role Teach, to packed houses at The Players.

Several Other Performances

In 2014 he played Artie Shaw in 'Artie Shaw & His Cinderella's at The Dramatist Guild Friday Night Series, Detective Petit in 'Down Boy' at The Actors Studio Spring Presentation, & the romantic lead role of Bill in 'Plane Love' at The Players.

2015-2017 found David hard at work, directing and performing the role of Shelley Levene in 'Glengarry Glen Ross, playing a Vampire in 'Mari Laveau and The Vampire', as well as in 'The Rotten Kid' and 'Love Letters.'
